Our heartfelt congratulations go to Christine Lagarde on her appointment as Minister for the Economy, Finance and Employment of France – becoming the first female finance and economy minister of a G7 country. The ISC feels privileged to count Mrs. Lagarde, as a five-time participant and chairperson of the St. Gallen Symposium from 2002 to 2006, among the long-time friends of our initiative and wishes her all the best in her new position.
Kofi Annan visited the University of St. Gallen
His Excellency Mr. Kofi Annan, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, has honoured the University of St. Gallen with a visit on 18 November 2006, in order to receive the Max Schmidheiny Foundation Freedom Prize.
Congratulations to Professor Muhammad Yunus on winning the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize
Our heartfelt congratulations go to Professor Muhammad Yunus, who, as Awardee of the Max Schmidheiny Freedom Prize 1995, honoured the St. Gallen Initiative with his presence and active involvement in the St. Gallen Symposium.
