Curriculum Vitae


Born in 1970. Manuel Ammann holds a Doctorate in Finance from the University of St. Gallen and a Master of Science in Computing Science from the Simon Fraser University in Canada.


Manuel Ammann held Visiting Professorships at the New York University, University of California at Berkeley and the University of Ulm. Currently, he is Professor of Finance at the University of St. Gallen and Director of the Swiss Institute of Banking and Finance. Manuel Ammann also holds the position of Academic Director of the University of St. Gallen’s Master programme in Banking and Finance and of the doctoral programme in Finance.


Besides his academic activities, Manuel Ammann regularly serves as a consultant to financial institutions and government agencies and as a member of several boards of directors and trustees. Moreover, he is founder and Chairman of Algofin AG.


Manuel Ammann is the editor of the journal Financial Markets and Portfolio Management and the author of numerous articles as well as several books. His main research interests are in the areas of derivative securities, asset management, financial markets and risk management.
