Born in 1953. Thomas Hoehn graduated magna cum laude from the University of St. Gallen in 1978 and received his Master of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics in 1980.
Thomas Hoehn started his professional career as Lecturer on introductory economics and microeconomics as well as Teaching & Research Assistant in industrial economics and competition policy at the University of Zurich from 1980 until 1984. For the following four years, he worked at the London School of Economics on various projects. He was Research Economist and Consultant for Malmgren Golt Kingston & Co. from 1985 until 1989. Thomas Hoehn transferred to London Economics in 1989, where he served as Managing Consultant. In 1994, he was promoted to Managing Director, which he remained for two years. Additionally, he acted as Board Director from 1993 onwards. Between 1997 and 1999, Thomas Hoehn was appointed Managing Director of LECG Ltd. in Brussels. He went on to join PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2000 as Partner in Corporate Finance and Recovery and Head of Economics Europe in London. Within this position, he coordinates the global economics practice.
After serving as Visiting Fellow at the Tanaka Business School Imperial College London starting 1998, Thomas Hoehn became Visiting Professor and Director of its Executive MBA Programme in 2003. He also holds the position of Adviser to the Fair Trading Compliance Committee of the Board of Governors of the BBC and was on the Joint Treasury/Department for Trade and Industry Committee on the Reform of UK Competition Policy between 2000 and 2001. Furthermore, he was a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Bahia Street Charity from 1999 until 2002 and the Funding Committee of the Further Education Funding Council in the years 1993 and 1994.
Thomas Hoehn has published widely on economic subjects and served as a Guest Editor for the International Journal of Law and Economics in 1992.
