Curriculum Vitae


Born in 1957. Ian Hudson graduated from Oxford University with a Master of Arts in French and German.


He spent 18 years of his career with Imperial Chemicals Industries Limited (ICI). Within the company, he held several commercial and business management positions, including assignments in France, the United States of America as well as in Asia. Eventually, he was European Business Director of ICI’s Polyester Films business. He joined DuPont in 1998, when the company aquired the business section he was working for, and was appointed Regional Director Europe for DuPont Polyester Films. After spending five years in Wilmington, Delaware, as Global Business Director Sorona®/Bio PDO in the DuPont Bio-based Materials Business, he relocated to Geneva in 2004. Subsequently, he was appointed Regional Director of DuPont Advanced Fiber Systems and DuPont Nonwovens. He has served the company as President of DuPont Europe, Middle East and Africa as well as Du Pont de Nemours International SA since 2006.


Besides his engagements with DuPont, Ian Hudson is a member of the Executive Committee and Board of the European Chemical Industry Association (CEFIC), Chairman of the Industrial Biotech Council, member of the Board of the European Association for Bioindustries (EuropaBio), member of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce and member of the Foundation Board of the International Institute for Management Development (IMD).
