Curriculum Vitae


Born in 1942. Didier Lombard graduated from the Ecole polytechnique and the Ecole nationale supérieure des télécommunications.


Following his studies, he started his professional career in 1967 at the CNET of France Telecom, today known as the Research & Development Division, where he assumed responsibility for the development of new products in relation to satellite, electronic and wireless systems. Between 1988 and 1990, Didier Lombard held the position of Scientific and Technical Director at the Ministry of Research and Technology. From 1991 to 1998, he served as General Manager of Industrial Strategy at the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry. Between 1999 and 2003, he was Deputy Ambassador for International Investments and Chairman of the French Agency for International Investments, of which he was the founder. Didier Lombard joined France Telecom in 2003 as Senior Executive Vice President in charge of technologies, strategic partnerships and new usages. In February 2005, he was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of France Telecom.


Didier Lombard is also Chairman of the Board of Orange, member of the Boards of Thomson and Thales. Furthermore, he is a member of the Supervisory Board of Radiall and ST Microelectronics.


In addition, he is Commandeur de la Légion d’honneur and Commandeur dans l’Ordre National du Mérite.
