Curriculum Vitae


Born in 1956. Edward Tse holds a Doctorate in civil engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley. He also received a Master of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.


Edward Tse has over 20 years of management consulting and senior corporate management experiences. He consulted the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the Chinese Government on issues related to policies and state-owned enterprises reform. After joining Booz Allen Hamilton, he was first the partner-in-charge of the first authorised office in China among all international strategy consulting firms in the early 1990s and has over the years consulted to several hundred Chinese and foreign companies on their business strategies, organisations, corporate transformations, mergers and acquisitions, and alliances. Currently, Edward Tse is Managing Director for Greater China of Booz Allen Hamilton.


During his career, Edward Tse held a number of leadership positions including being Managing Partner China for the Boston Consulting Group from 1993 to 1996, Executive Vice President as well as Corporate Strategy and Managing Director Greater China for Hong Kong Telecom from 2000 to 2001 and part-time member of the Central Policy Unit of Hong Kong SAR Government. For over ten years, he has also been a Business Strategy Expert for Chief Executive China as well as a member of the Consultative Editorial Board of Harvard Business Review Chinese Edition. Currently, he serves as an independent board member for Baoshan Iron & Steel Corp., as a senior advisor to the mayor of Luwan District of Shanghai Municipality and as an expert in the Expert Committee of China International Engineering Consulting Corporation (CIECC). Moreover, Edward Tse is Vice President and Professor at the Shanghai Institute of International Finance on a part time basis.


Furthermore, Edward Tse is a frequent speaker on Greater China’s business and regulations as well as at business conferences and government forums. As a prolific author of articles on China, he recently has published a new book on Chinese enterprises.
