Curriculum Vitae
Born in 1968. Ruben Vardanian graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in Economics in 1992. He, then, completed a post-graduate training at BANCA CRT in Turin, Italy, as well as Merrill Lynch’s Emerging Markets Training Programme in New York City. In addition to that, Ruben Vardanian completed courses at INSEAD and Harvard Business School.
He has been with Troika Dialog Group since its foundation in 1991 and was appointed the company’s head in 1992. As Troika Dialog Group’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ruben Vardanian is one of the leading figures in Russia’s capital markets. He is an active member of many important business organisations, notably the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, where he is a member of the Management Committee, chairs the Corporate Governance Committee and serves as Arbitrator of the United Committee on Corporate Ethics.
Ruben Vardanian holds positions as member of the board in various companies, including RusSpets-Stal, URSA Bank, AK Bars Bank, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft and NOVATEK. From 2002 until 2004, he was Chief Executive Officer of Rosgosstrakh and, for the two years following, Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. Furthermore, he sits on the Council of the National Committee for Economic Affairs with Japan and chairs the Russia-Kuwait Business Council on behalf of Russia.
In addition to his other responsibilities, Ruben Vardanian is active as a member of the Coordination Board for the Armenia 2020 project. He is also the President of the Moscow School of Management (SKOLKOVO) and Director of a fund established by the International Baccalaureate Organisation to promote education worldwide.
