Curriculum Vitae


Born in 1947. Karl Weisskopf received his diploma in accounting in Vienna in 1969.


He began his professional career in Vienna, where he worked in accounting and tax consulting for five years. In 1971, Karl Weisskopf emigrated to South Africa, where he held several positions in the financial sector. Upon his return to Austria in 1974, he joined Sperry Remington as Controller for Austria and Eastern Europe and subsequently assumed the same position with Memorex Corporation. Between 1982 and 1991, he held a number of management positions with Data General Corporation in the financial sales and general management field at different locations such as Frankfurt, Paris and Zurich. In 1992, Karl Weisskopf joined the family owned Liebherr Group, where he has held various positions since. During ten years, he managed the Liebherr Group’s diversified business activities in Austria. Thereafter, he played a dominant role in changing the group’s organisation from a regional to a divisional structure. Since 2002, Karl Weisskopf has been a Director of Liebherr International AG, the group holding company based in Bulle, Switzerland.


He is a member of numerous supervisory boards of affiliated Liebherr companies as well as of Semperit Holding AG. In addition, he serves on the Board of the Association of Austrian Industries.
